Brad and his pond.
|
Brad Paisley has a two-acre pond on his Nashville farm. It was dug as part of the construction of his farm south of Nashville where he lives with wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley and their son Huck. Brad says that pond became a metaphor for his career. He dug it at the height of a drought – and it stayed empty for a long time. “For the first two-and-a-half years it has sat dry. And I thought, this thing is a horrible failure. It’s a big eyesore. And it is very similar in this sense. The difficulty that you go through in the beginning of a career – if that’s not there I don’t think you could possibly appreciate it the same way.” The drought ended this spring and the pond is full of water and stocked with fish and Brad explains he really appreciates that pond. Brad has three major nominations Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. He’s up for Top Male Vocalist, Album of the Year and could take home his first Entertainer of the Year trophy. |
